Fasten your seat belt… let’s take a quick tour!
New Hyper-realistic cab room
AmpliTube has always been about realism, and now that extreme commitment to accuracy is a part of its completely redesigned cabinet section. The new Cab Room feature is the most advanced cabinet section ever made, giving you a new level of customization and flexibility never before seen in software or reality.
The cab room now has 5 distinct customization sections: cabinet selection with size adjustment where players can choose the speaker cabinet they’d like to match to the amplifier, individual speaker selection where they can swap out individual speakers, mic selection and placement for finding the speaker “sweet spot”, room selection where players select the surrounding recording environment, and a mixer section that allows players to mix the levels of speaker mics, room ambience, direct amp signal and overall main mix. Never before has such a level of control and customization been available for fine-tuning tones from the speaker section.
For starters, the cab room is just that — a 3-dimensional speaker cabinet recording space that can be changed depending upon the desired “room” type and effect. Players can choose from a range of room types, from a cavernous “garage” to a full on cabinet “dead” room, and mix the room effect and color into the overall sound.
Dual 3D mic placement
Now you can mic up your cabinet with up to two microphones in a full 3D space. AmpliTube 4 comes with 3 microphone, with an additional 15 highly coveted recording microphone models available in the Custom Shop providing a truly hyper-realistic sound capturing environment. The room microphones can also be chosen from the available mics. This, coupled with its swappable speakers, allows for true cabinet miking with full speaker interaction — a digital first. Add in things like room ambience control, a new mixer for the cab section and gorgeous new graphics, and it’s easy to see that the new Cab Section is poised to revolutionize the way guitarists, bass players and other musicians utilize virtual cabinets in their music.
Individual Speaker Selection
Now you can swap out individual speakers in your favorite cabinets at will, allowing for creative speaker combinations utilizing the many precision-modeled speakers available. The AmpliTube 4 speaker cabinet section not only accurately reproduces the tonal characteristics of the individual speakers, but also accurately picks up the harmonic interactions between the individual speaker models, the cabinet construction and the room, making it the most realistic speaker cabinet emulation available.
New Hyper-realistic gear — British Amps!
AmpliTube 4 welcomes 5 new classic amplifier models to the mix representing some of the best British tones from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Each amplifier has been modeled from scratch to embody a different aspect of powerfully classic British amplifier design: There’s the Brit 8000, Brit 9000, Red Pig, Brit Silver and Brit Valve-Pre. All of these new amplifiers have been created utilizing the same methods and patented technologies that have made the AmpliTube brand name synonymous with world-class sound, hyper-realistic tone and extreme accuracy.
These models also bring a new level of realism and sonic accuracy through a new technology that precisely replicates the dynamic interaction between the power amp and the speakers, thus eliminating the “harshness” typically found in the upper frequencies of other software and adding another level of dynamic response and hyper-real feel.
AmpliTube 4 comes with the built-in Custom Shop gear store feature that allows you to add gear to your collections any time a-la-carte or via collections. Its vast selection of amps, stomps, cabinets and more includes officially certified models from the likes of such legendary greats as Fender®, MESA/Boogie®, Ampeg®, Orange®, Soldano™, Groove Tubes®, Gallien-Krueger®, Jet City Amplification™, THD® and T-Rex®, Fulltone®, Z.Vex®, Carvin®, Morley®, Wampler Pedals®, Dr. Z®, ENGL® and more. In addition to these well-recognized brands, there’s also signature gear from artists like Slash and Jimi Hendrix. AmpliTube 4 can also be expanded with legacy gear from previous versions of AmpliTube via the Custom Shop. When you think Ampeg, you think huge stadium bass tone… the Rolling Stones '69 tour with the wall of SVT Classic Heads and 810 cabinets. The sound of Rock & Roll — early Van Halen through AC/DC to Dave Matthews Band. You think the Motown sounds of James Jamerson and that fabulous "round" bass sound only a B-15 Flip Top can provide — the sounds that DEFINED, and DEFINE, bass.
So really you think "legendary". The sounds of Ampeg amplifiers are the sound of a bass revolution — the voice of generations of musical identity and groove definition that are synonymous with the fabric of our core as musicians. These are the tools we use to express our inner groove. These are our…
Get Legendary Tones. But what's behind a "Legend"?
You hear the term "legendary" and "legendary tone" thrown around a lot these days. Everyone is trying to "capture that legendary tone." But if you think about it, what does it really mean? What's behind "legendary" that makes it so?
If you dig deep, at the core of everything "legendary" you'll find one common thread — innovation. And at the heart of innovation is the challenge of the norm, a spirited approach that focuses thinking on not "what is" but "what if."
Stadium Bass Tones, no Chiropractors
That's exactly what you get with the Ampeg SVX models. 100% pure Ampeg Bass Tone. Take 175lbs of "legendary" earth-shaking back-breaking roadie-killing bass gear and compress it into a mere 3-pound delicate instrument that can equally produce such raw power and emotion and you've got our "what if" thinking, and you've got the Ampeg SVX suite of Bass Amps and Bass effects. Innovative? Absolutely. Legendary? Hmmmm…
The SVT Classic. The B-15 "Flip Top". The SVT-4Pro.
Let's face it - We could say anything here. But fact the fact is, Ampeg chose us, IK Multimedia to create digital models of their most prized gear. Frankly, that should really say it all. However, if you're an Ampeg Fan, let us make you all warm and fuzzy inside. With the SVX package, you get the Ampeg "Greatest Hits" amps — the earth-shattering sound of Rock & Roll bass from the Grandaddy of them all – the SVT. The smooth groove making rolls of the B-15. The scooped "edgy-ness" of the 4Pro. All Tube, all legendary, all Ampeg.
So accurate it even shut down
Actually, this is true. Funny story… during the first phase of testing with the Engineers at Ampeg, one particular software model was being driven so hard that it "shut down." Completely stopped working. Nada, nothing. Oh crap — we thought we were in trouble. But the lead engineer at Ampeg approved the model on the spot. You see, there was a slight design flaw in the actual amplifier being modeled that would cause a power fault shutdown if the amp was driven too hard for too long. The software model was in fact so accurate that it even replicated this design flaw… that's how accurate it is. If you think about it, it's the software engineer's equivalent of the "no yellow M&Ms" rider clause in a performance contract — so it looks like we're playing tonight. But don't worry. We took took the "shutdown" feature out of our models so you can rock all night. Really.
Life Below 250Hz (250Hz Under the Sea)
As Bass players, we live in a different, delightful world. Some would call it the "sub" world… the basement… the underground. We prefer "the Foundation." And Ampeg SVX delivers the foundation in spectacular form. You'll find the bass sound you need here to hold it down… the keep the drummer in check, and to guide the rest of the band through the complex musical journeys as only a true pro bass player can do.
So we're glad you're here. And hear. Welcome to the new worlds of legendary bass tones… Welcome to Ampeg SVX.
The new Ampeg SVX 2 collection brings even more power to the game giving you the opportunity to expand your collection with 6 additional gear models that raise the bar once again in terms of unprecedented sonic authenticity.
When it comes to an iconic brand like Ampeg to put their mark on the software equivalent of their timeless masterpieces, they could not have gone for anything less than the best in the virtual software world and as they pioneered the bass amplification world they choose IK Multimedia, the true pioneers of amps and effects modeling technology for modern players.
Ampeg SVX 2 collection is based on IK’s latest exclusive Dynamic Interaction Modeling™ technology, which uniquely recreates the fine interactions of complete internal circuit stages of the original models, thus reproducing their unmistakable vibe and dynamics down to their finest nuances.
Arena-ready bass powerhouse
The Ampeg SVT-VR is a vintage reissue of an early 1970’s “Blue-Line” SVT head. The preamp stage, power section, and even rocker switches emulate the exact signal path, tone, and vibe of the original rock ’n’ roll workhorse. Authentic from its input jack all the way to its six 6550 output tubes, this is the exact recreation of the 70’s best rock bass amp. Regardless of the genre of music you play, the unmistakable tone of this arena-ready bass monster will give you all the growl you might ever need. It’s no surprise that players like Bootsy Collins, Tony Levin, Chris Squire, Pino Palladino and Bill Laswell, just to name a few, called upon it to deliver their unique sound.
An all-tube legend
The Ampeg V-4B 100W All-Tube Bass Head is a remarkable reissue of the legendary 1971 original, delivering the pure tube vintage sound, attitude and unmistakable grind that earned this classic amp a place in bass history.
