I do have various sample-based libraries but you can't play them expressively. OK, velocity and perhaps a bit of after-touch on the filters. However, virtual modelling provides way more options to physically "play" the sounds as you're thinking them, and feeling it. The response is great. The sounds will never be 100% accurate but watch some videos of good musicians using MPE or an AT keyboard and they can show how much feeling is possible with Swam. It's the nuances and mistakes that can make it sound more real than samples. It also saves a ton of time programming midi after the fact. Although you can still do that. I used the free trial period then pressed the buy button on Black Friday. No regrets, years ahead of me learning all the parameters for all the instruments.

The SWAM All-In Bundle includes every solo instrument I need, making it useful in so many musical situations. Since it’s fully modeled, the small footprint is a huge advantage, and it blends very well with other virtual instruments. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the sound and flexibility.
